Pony Express Series: Heavy-Duty Gun Safe for Maximum Protection
Sun Welding's Pony Express Series stands as the brand's signature line, built to deliver superior protection and durability. Designed as a heavy-duty gun safe, the Pony Express Series features a robust 1/4" steel plate door and a 10-gauge steel body, offering exceptional security.
This series is equipped with your choice of a Group II combination lock or an Electronic lock, both shielded by a 1/4" hard plate and a 1/2" absorption plate, providing enhanced resistance to impact, drilling, and punch attacks. In addition, the three-way bolt work includes five active bolts on the opening side and hinge side, plus a top bolt. These are further secured by two spring-loaded re-locking systems, locking all bolts together for added security.
The Pony Express Series also boasts fireproof protection, with fire insulation rated for 1200°F for 30 minutes (with an upgrade option of up to 2 hours). The UL-rated fire insulation covers all six interior surfaces, while the door features a heat-expanding seal that swells up to eight times its size to seal out heat.
Designed with flexibility in mind, the interior is fully adjustable and offers several customizable options to maximize both gun storage capacity and shelving space.

The Pony Express Series is equipped with advanced fire insulation covering all six sides of the safe, offering exceptional protection in case of a fire. The heat-sensitive expanding fire seal around the door swells up to eight times its size to create a protective barrier, further enhancing the safe's fire resistance.
Fire Rating Testing:
The fire rating is determined by placing the safe in an oven heated to 1200°F for a set period (denoted as 'x' minutes). At the end of this test, the internal temperature of the safe will reach 350°F. The actual burn time depends on various factors, such as the fire's temperature and duration.
